Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has a little webcast show you may have heard of called “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” In each episode, Seinfeld takes a comedian friend for coffee in a classic car, sharing stories and off-the-cuff talk along the way.

In November 2013, Seinfeld borrowed the red 1966 MGB of K&T customer (and part-time employee) Kim de Bourbon, taking it for a spin from Manhattan to Coney Island for coffee and a hot dog with comedian Todd Barry (Wanderlust.)

The show’s producers were looking for an early red MGB located not too far from New York City for this episode. They found photos of Kim’s car online, and got in touch to ask permission for Seinfeld to borrow it for a few days.

The episode, posted January 23, 2014, is entitled “So You’re Mellow and Tense?” referring to Barry’s wry persona. But the guest comic isn’t much of a car guy, and doesn’t have a whole lot to say during the episode… which gives Seinfeld lots of time to talk about the MGB.

NOTE: The series is now available only through Netflix. Clicking on the image above or the link below will take you to the show’s page, but you’ll need to navigate to Season 3, Episode 15 to find the Todd Barry/MGB episode. Then you’ll need a Netflix subscription.
